Usually, AT&T supported devices receive OTA updates and can easily be captured. In the past, we have managed to update many AT&T Samsung devices using this method. Many times users have been able to capture unreleased OTA update for some device. Similarly, the Oreo update is now seeding on AT&T servers for Note 8 Snapdragon variants. It features Android 8.0 Oreo, latest security patch, Samsung Experience 9.0, and much more.
As for the installation, the OTA can be sideloaded using ADB or applied using stock recovery.
